Users often complained about endless swiping without meaningful connections, safety concerns related to fake profiles, and a frustrating user interface. Our research indicated a significant drop-off rate after the initial signup, suggesting issues with onboarding and the overall user experience. Addressing these problems was critical to improving user satisfaction and retention Our main objectives were to increase user engagement by 25%, improve user retention by 30%, and enhance the feeling of safety and trust among users. I defined success using key performance indicators (KPIs), including daily/monthly active users, average session duration, match-to-message conversion rate, user feedback scores from surveys, and the number of reported profiles. Our design process involved creating a robust design system that ensured consistency across the entire app. I started with wireframes to map out the information architecture and user flows, followed by high-fidelity prototypes for detailed interaction design. I paid particular attention to visual design elements, selecting a color palette and typography that felt both modern and approachable.
